5 Ways to Show Someone You Love Them

Valentine's Day has passed, but just because we're not celebrating a holiday doesn't mean you shouldn't or don't have to show the people you care about that you love them! Everyone wants to feel loved and valued, so it's important to continue to show those you're close to just how much you care!

The people I care most about are my friends and family. I'm lucky enough to have parents and siblings I am close to - I can call them and talk about practically anything and I love spending time with them. I've also developed great friendships with a handful or two of people throughout my 4 years at university. Since those are the people I care about and love most, here's 5 totally easy, everyday ways to show friends and family (or anyone else!) that you love them.

5 Ways to Show Someone You Love Them | from Courtney's Little Things

Listen.

You might talk all the time, but how often do you really listen to them? Put the phone down, ask them questions, and really listen to their answers. I love whenever I have great conversations with someone and it's amazing how much you can learn about someone you've known "forever."

Do a little something to make their day better/easier.

How great is it when someone does something nice for you, just because? You don't have to come home with a package of their favorite candy and flowers - although that does work! If it's someone you live with, taking out the trash, unloading the dishes, or any other little chore can really help them out. If you're heading over to a friend's house you can ask if they want you to pick them up some food since you're going through Jimmy John's anyways.

Be supportive and encouraging.

Encourage your friend to fill out one more job application. Drive her to the job interview and give her a good pep talk. Send a good luck text when it's her first day at work. Being there for your friends and family as we go through life and transition through different stages is SOOO important!! Sometimes we just need that extra push or a helping hand to reach all our goals - and that's why it's so important to have a good support system of friends and family.

Sharing is caring.

Sharing is another great way to show someone you care. You don't have to loan out everything if that's not something you're comfortable with, but you can always share an umbrella when it's raining or let them use your stuff when they're over. If you do some baking you can share some of your goodies by asking a friend or family member to come over and help you eat them, or drop by their place to give them a few of the treats you made.

Just tell them.

This is might seem like a "duh," but how often do you actually tell your friends and family how much you love, care, and value them? You don't have to profess your love, but a little "love you girl" or "you're the best!" can go a long way and make them feel loved.

How do you show your love to your friends and family? What would you add to this list?

    1. It is! It's easy to take people for granted, especially when they feel like they're just a normal part of your life, but you have to make them feel special and loved so that you can keep them there! Plus, you know, you probably care about them and want them to feel special :)
